Support the Merigar East Sang Khangs
“The Sang rite is principally for purification and, in particular, for purifying the energy of the individual. It is said, in fact, that every individual possesses five divinities corresponding to five types of energy that protect and maintain the positive aspects of the individual. When one's own protective energy is weakened, one becomes passive and vulnerable to negative influences, so the Sang rite purifies the obstacles and negative forces linked to the place in which one lives, because the local guardians and their energy also influence the individual. “
Chögyal Namkhai Norbu: “Sang Offering and the Serkyem of the Eight Classes”
Our plan is to build two Sang Khangs: one on either side of the Gompa, along an axis defined by the predominant directions of wind. Every morning during a retreat, practitioners will perform a rite of Sang before the teachings, and as people walk down to the Gompa, they will walk through a cloud of well-scented smoke. Our aim is to finish the construction before the retreat with ChNN in August 2012.
Help us spread the smoke! We suggest the following sponsor levels (and incentives):
