How to Make Tibetan Prayer Flags

Starts on: August 26, 2023 - August 27, 2023

Time: All Day

Printing and sewing workshop

Everybody has seen Tibetan prayer flags (lung-ta in Tibetan), but do you know their meaning and making process?

You don’t have to have any special skills!  The process is simple and we have everything we need. You just need the desire to learn something new related to the five elements and the treasure of Tibetan tradition.

Lung-ta, which means wind horse, refers to the protective force of the individual, and this vital force is related to the fulfilment of wishes and the bringing of good luck, benefits and prosperity.

There’s a lot to be said about lungta!

If we’ve raised your interest, we look forward to welcoming you to our workshop in Merigar East, the only Buddhist centre on the Black Sea,  to learn or improve your Tibetan flag making skills : lungtas!

What will you learn?

We will actually make horizontal and vertical Tibetan prayer flags. You can take one set home with you!

How?

We will use a rotary cutter to prepare the fabric, screen printing (serigraphy) on cotton cloth, and sewing with sewing machine.

Where?

In a space full of possibilities, where the five elements are in full force, a few minutes from the beach, at Merigar East.

We are waiting for you, beautiful people, to meet us or to meet again. Let’s continue the story of making lung-ta in Merigar East, as we have been doing for the last 5 years.
