Who we are

The website Dzogchen.ro is property of the Asociația Comunitatea Internațională Dzogchen – Merigar East (hereinafter ACID), situated in Loc. 23 August, Romania, legally represented by Kvetoslava Svedova – member of the Board of Directors. ACID is affiliated to the International Dzogchen Community, situated in Località Merigar 1, Arcidosso GR, Italy. Registration, subscription and donations

What kind of personal information does Dzogchen.ro collect?

In order to conduct the course registration process, to process your payments and also when you use our services, there are certain pieces of information we ask for: your name and surname, your contact details, your status as a member of International Dzogchen Community, your payment information and sometimes your specific preferences regarding various aspects of the activity. In addition to this, the website automatically collects information from your computer, phone tablet or other device you’re using to access our services. This can include the IP address, the browser you’re using, and your language settings.

Why does Dzogchen.ro collect and use your personal data?

The main reason we ask you for personal data and details is to administer your online registrations and your voluntary donations. We also use your personal data to contact you in relation to these.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you are a WordPress user and you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites

Who we share your data with

How does Dzogchen.ro share your data with third parties?

Most of the times, we do not share your data with third parties. Rather, your information is safely stored in the reserved area of our website and used by ACID members appointed by our General Assembly of  Associates. In exceptional cases, such as when you need translation of our emails or when you prefer to make your donations for our courses to your local Ling, we might share your contact information with the Gakyil of your local ling and/or with the appointed translators.

Recordings of the online retreats on zoom might be shared with Ati Yoga Foundation, for the purpose of creating a shared library/depository, accessible only to persons with transmission from Chögyal Namkhai Norbu. Your zoom names/IDs will not be saved on the recording, that will feature the speaker (mainly the instructor) but your image might be visible if you choose to speak and you turn your camera on. You can opt not to turn on your camera during zoom conferences.

Donations through our website

If you make a donation for our ongoing projects you will be asked if you want your donation to be anonymous or you agree to make it public on our website in the ”Project donors list” section. Upon your explicit consent, your Name, Surname, City, Country, the campaign you donated for and the sum will appear publicly on our website here.

There are also other parties that can receive some of your data, which are parties we involve to provide you with the Dzogchen.ro services. These include financial institutions or in some cases if we are required by applicable law, governmental or other authorities. We do not sell or rent your personal data.

We might also share information with relevant financial institutions if we consider it strictly necessary for fraud detection and prevention purposes.

When a donation is made, via events registration or via Donation form, the information about this donation is sent to our service providers (PayU, Unicredit Bank, Paypal or other payment services).

Your donation will be processed by our Association according to the Romanian laws regulating NGO’s financial activity. More information about how we process your donations in terms and conditions.

We share your personal data with authorities as it is required by law or is strictly necessary for the prevention, detection or prosecution of criminal acts and fraud or if we’re otherwise legally obliged to do so. We may need to further disclose personal data to competent authorities to protect and defend our rights or properties, or the rights and properties of our business partners.

Third party services

Your data is stored and managed on our website databases. The data collected via website is stored in databases located on our hosting provider server.

In order to provide you our services, our website is integrated through API with other external services or third parties such as WordPress, Zoom, Mailchimp, Paypal. In some cases, some data, like name, country, language are shared with those services. When registering to a Zoom event, the website creates a registration in Zoom as well.

If you choose to register to our Newsletter, your information (name, email and Dzogchen Community membership status) will be shared to our Mailchimp account. When you opt in, you will receive our news by email, and you can opt out at any time by clicking “Unsubscribe” in the footer of the emails. Read about Mailchimp’s privacy policy.

On our website we have integrated a Google calendar, Google Captcha, and Google  Maps  via APIs along with other plugins and web services. When you use these services on our website, if you choose to follow those links you might be redirected to your google account which will be automatically accessed by google services themselves if you are already logged in.

How does Dzogchen.ro use social media?

The website does not integrate any of your social media information nor does it collect social media data. For the promotion of courses and retreats we might use some images on our social media, only with the explicit consent of the people who appear in them.

What security and retention procedures does Dzogchen.ro put in place to safeguard your personal data?

We adhere to appropriate and adequate procedures to prevent unauthorized access to, and the misuse of, personal data that we process.

We use appropriate business systems and procedures to protect and safeguard the personal data you give us. We also use security procedures and technical and physical restrictions for accessing and using the personal data on our servers. Only authorized personnel are permitted to access personal data in the course of their work.

The personal data you provide in order to register to a course will be stored for two years only, after that it will be permanently deleted.

We will retain your personal data for as long as we deem it necessary to enable you to use our services, to provide our services to you, to comply with applicable laws, to resolve disputes with any parties, and otherwise as necessary to allow us to conduct our business, including to detect and prevent fraud or other illegal activities. This time will not be anyway longer than two years, after that it will be permanently deleted. This excludes data regarding the donations/donors and the data related to our mailing lists (handled through our Mailchimp account), if you registered.

All personal data we retain will be subject to this Privacy Statement.

How can you control the personal data you’ve given to Dzogchen.ro?

What kind of personal data does Dzogchen.ro collect?

Personal data you give to us

Dzogchen.ro collects and uses information that you provide us. When you make an event  registration or a donation, you are (as a minimum) asked for your name, country and email address. Depending on the type of event, we might also ask for your IDC membership status, transmission received or not, experience with the practice, telephone number, payment information, your county, city and ZIP.

You also provide us your name and email if you choose to contact us through the contact form on our website.

Personal data you give us about others

When you are doing a Registration or donation for others, you will have to give the personal details of those people as well. Or, in some cases, you can share information from Dzogchen.ro with others.

Note that it is your responsibility to ensure the person or people you’ve provided personal information about are aware that you’ve done so, and have accepted how Dzogchen.ro uses their information (as described in this privacy statement).

Other data we collect automatically

Even if you don’t end up making a donation or course registration (and when you do), when you visit our website, we automatically collect certain information. This includes your IP address, the date and time you accessed our services, the hardware, software or internet browser you used and information about your computer’s operating system, like application versions and your language settings. Why does Dzogchen.ro collect and use your personal data?

We use the information collected about you for various purposes. Your personal data may be used in the following ways:

1. Registration and donations: We use your personal data to complete and administer your online registration and/or your donation. This includes sending you communications related to your registration and/or donation such as confirmations, modifications, reminders and course materials.

2. Inquiries: We use your personal data so we can help you with donation, registration or your inquiry. 

3. Marketing activities: We use your information for marketing activities with your explicit consent (e.g. for sending you our newsletter).

How can you control the personal data you’ve given to Dzogchen.ro?

  • You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • You can inform us of any changes to your personal data, or you can ask us to correct any of the personal data we hold about you.
